Well, as some may have guessed, I’m Deron Williams.  Not really, but I will be making twice his salary.

Check the date, it’s not April Fool’s.  The big news is that I have joined SBNation as their Jazz site.  If you haven’t read any SBNation sites, they’re a network of sports blogs.  They didn’t have one for the Jazz and I approached them about joining up with them.

I wasn’t able to take the basketballjohn website with me so the new name of the site is SLC Dunk.  I’m still Basketball John on there though.  I’m moved some recent posts over, but for the most part, it will be new stuff from here on out.  I’ll leave BBJ in tact for an archive.

So now, head on over to the new site and sign up if you’re not already a SBNation member already.  Here’s an brief post explaining things.  I’m also having a small contest for all those that sign up.

The site is all done, but links, stats, etc will be added gradually.  I wanted to get things going though before the playoffs end.  So get signed up so you’re ready for the game thread tonight.

I’m on with Steve Mason again today at 4 pm MDT.  I’ll be going up against Lee from The Dream Shake as we discuss why our respective teams are a better matchup for the Lakers.  This has Jerry Springer written all over it.  Both Lee and I will be going back and forth while Mason and his audience are waiting for us to go at each other’s throats.  Then he’ll surprise us both with with an unannounced guest, John Hollinger.  John will then go on to rip us both apart with stats and analysis and tell us that neither deserve to move on.

Nah, should be good though.  We’re suppose to say why our teams match up better against the Lakers.  I might turn it around on Steve (if he or his producer don’t read this first).

Absolutely crazy day today.  I was contacted by the Steve Mason show of 710 AM (ESPN radio) about doing a phone interview with them today.  It was completely out of the blue and a pleasant surprise.

So I will be on his show at about 1:47 MDT and you can listen live here.  I’ll be talking to Steve and JA Adande (Around the Horn & ESPN.com) about the Jazz and the WC playoffs.  They also podcast on the hour so I’ll get a link up when it’s posted.

I’ll try not to embarrass the Jazz fan base too much.

So hardwoodparoxysm has a poll out for NBA blogs of the year.  The nominations were in January and some Jazz bloggers got on the list such as My Utah Jazz, FLA, and Biased Fan.  But not me.  So if you’d like to vote for BBJ, it will have to come as a write-in.  But if we can get the ESA chanting MVP when Deron comes to the line, then we can start a successful write-in campaign.

I don’t expect to beat out any of the big boys, but I want to beat the other Jazz blogs (no offense).  But you can vote for them as well if you’d like.  So if you like the videos, and you like the pics, and if you like the comments, get out and vote.
