All things Utah Jazz - 2006-2007 Northwest Division Champs

Preview - Utah Jazz @ Minnesota Timberwolves -30 March 2008

March 30th, 2008 by Basketball John

The Jazz are returning to the scene of this humiliating loss.  They were blown out by nearly 30.

It goes without saying that they can ill afford to lose this one.  We’re only  two back of first place.  The Rockets and Spurs are squaring off now.  So we should be able to gain on one of them.

Golden State goes up against Dallas.  Dallas has won their first two meetings.  SO GS has to win the next two.  But if they do, this could be the beginning of the end for the Mavs playoff chances.

ANd of course the big news is that Fesenko and Almond both got called up yesterday (thanks for the tip UtesFan and Danielle).  That means they can’t be sent back down again.  It will be good to get the some PT in preparation for the playoffs.

So let’s hope we take care of business again and keep gaining in the standings.

I think the first T-Wolves game was a fluke. Look for the Jazz to have a 15-20 point lead in the 4th and Fes and Almond to get 10-12 minutes.

Let’s hope. So far there have been quite a few AWKWARD and embarassing sequences in this game.

I would like to retract my statement.

Could we get a stop please?

I guess we’re not going to see much of Almond today. :(
And by we, I mean the people with FSN.
I’m not seeing anything right now… save the gamecast from Yahoo! sports.

I really don’t get Sloan’s hate for CJ & Almond.
Fine, CJ screwed up and skipped the RMR. Get over it.
And Almond can’t really become a better defender when he’s not given any time on the court.

    Let them play!

    This is embarrassing.
The chance for home-court advantage is slipping away…

I AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW!!! Seriously 2 loses in MN is unacceptable. I don’t know why they decide to suck sometimes. It is so frustrating to watch. You could just see it on AK’s face, while he was watching. And now, if Ronnie really is hurt, we could have a big problem on our hands.

It pains me in my soul to say this, but we needed Collins in there for defense. If you look at the shot chart, EVERYTHING was in the paint. It was really embarrassing and I’m pretty sure I will be suppressing this memory

Wait… Ronnie’s hurt? Again? I thought he came back today…

I’m really hoping Fesenko can be the defender inside… I just don’t think Sloan’s gonna give him enough time. Spend as much time in the d-league as you want… coming back up to the NBA is a totally different ball-game… especially if you’re going to be a low-post defender. Fesenko needs time in the NBA… and 37 seconds in the game isn’t enough.
Korver had 5 fouls, and went 0-3 from deep. Deron went 1-6 from long range… the team as a whole went 1-12. You’d think that maybe, just maybe… Almond would get a look.
As much as I want to keep blaming Sloan (and I can, at least for the lack of usage of CJ, Almond & Fesenko)… some of the blame has to go on the team itself. The road play this season has been horrific. Someone needs to step up… it really doesn’t seem like it’s going to be Booze or Deron. At least not in the sense of getting their teammates to play better.

The Jazz shot better. Each team missed 6 FTs. The things that killed them… turnovers, and the lack of inside defense. How much blame goes on the coach… and how much on the players & their attitudes?

Yeah, Ronnie hurt something in his upper right leg,( I think in the 3rd? )and he pulled himself out of the game. He tried to come back toward the end of the 4th and then he did something again and went to the bench. I hope he’s ok, because he was the only spark the team had today. I really don’t think ANYONE ELSE cared about this game. They were all just kind of hanging out. KK needs to get that 3 point shot going, and Deron needs to take things upon himself when no one else can pull through. I know he can do it!!

  11. UtesFan89 Says:

    I lie… KoKo only had 3 fouls.

  12. Danielle Says:

I really doesn’t matter, as he really sucked it up either way.
