“All white guys are good at H.O.R.S.E.”
Basketball John
Morris Almond lost out to Lance Allred of the Idaho Stampede in the return of HORSE to the NBA’s D-League. Morris won the first round with a HO. But in the finals, Almond got beat down by a HO when Allred nailed the patented Harpring jump shot from the left elbow. He did call out Harpring Sucks though when he shot it. Mo wasn’t able to match that.
And apparently if you’re white, you have an advantage in HORSE. That coming from both Almond and Allred. Did we ever see either Bird or Jordan win? And is the reason why the league capped the games at 5 minutes because they didn’t want players yelling out HOR! when the other guy missed? Isn’t that the best part of playing HORSE? You progress from HO, to HOR, and then to HORS (with a z sound). I guess they’re trying to attract as few groupies as possible.
Millsap and Brewer played in the Soph/Rookie game tonight as well. Brewer made the most of his 17 minutes going 6-6 from the field and finished with 13 points. Millsap didn’t do as well. He only got up four shots in 22 minutes. He only had two boards as well. Daniel Gibson won MVP going 11-20 from the three-point line. And those were the only shots he took. I don’t think he even crossed the arc.

So tomorrow night we’ll get to see Williams embarrass Paul, Wade, and Kidd in the skills challenge. No word yet on whether Kobe is going to still play in the All-Star game. We know Kidd likely won’t be traded now before then due to George and Stackhouse. So if Mamba can’t go, there’s a good shot Deron could get the call.

“This was harder than I thought it would be,” Almond said. “You want to take more creative shots, but you have to take shots that you can make. So there is a happy medium in there somewhere. Yes, it’s embarrassing that I lost to a center, but all white guys are good at H.O.R.S.E. for some reason, but Lance is a great shooter even for a post player, so it’s not like I’m surprised.”
for some reason I don expect an NAACP protest!
Morris, Morris, Morris! Meaning that all black guys??? Can’t jump!?
I realize that the season contributes to some challenges for you, but just get real about it.
I will write this off as a rookie mistake, nothing more, nothing less, but yes it is strike one.

The game, oh my the game!
Loved the game and even more all the shared surroundings of it. From the chef, to the starved announcers, and most so when Malone again appeared center stage!
17-18 yrs with the Jazz, called the “greatest power forward of all time” National audience. (oh and he is deserving of such).
Often would have blow outs during off season. Always would get blown out of proportion, but came back with a smile and dunk, with a foul to come! Year after year after year. AK had one this last summer. Volcanoes often do blow and don’t result in an abolished civilization.
Karl shot a gamble on the cheap in hopes of a ring, his wager failed. If I did not dislike the laker’s so much I could almost call him a traitor. But no way. Karl is the reason Millsap is where he is today.
Our former players, that many long for to reappear for any chosen game, well they have not disappeared. They spend 20 years working in this franchise, they are around still.
Deron with summers spent with Stockton. AK hanging big time with Jeff Hornacek, the real team is happening. Bennett, OMG level of improvement! Millsap along side.
Such is called loyalty to a prior employer! Dedication to YOUR team. Compensated or not, don’t matter.
Did anybody state that Malone was headed for the HOF? Stockton? when they first started to play? NOPE.
That is one thing that happens to being able to play, every game. Ring up good numbers at each, and by the end of careerer?
The real content of a player is not contained in a few hours of video game play. But by years of effort, dedication and performances.

I must admist that the Rookie game was rather entertaining. It was also good to see Deron and CP3 hanging out. Just shows you what a great guy Deron is.
