Please head on over to SLC Dunk for your Basketball John fix.

Halftime update - Jazz @ Kings

Just a few notes from the first half:

  • Good to see Boozer back.  He’s got 17.
  • Bad news, Martin is lighting them up for 22.
  • Jerry stuck to his word.  Hart didn’t lose his job to an injury.  But he’s definitely lost it to Price now.  The Jazz were down 13 before they went on a 14-2 run.  The biggest  reason was Price’s two threes and two steals.
  • Harpring is guarding Miller?  Wow.  He had a sweet steal on him where he just ripped it out of his hands and went in for the dunk.
  • Millsap is getting abused.  He got stitches from Moore and got hit upside the head inadvertently by Price.
  • Refs are idiots.  The Kings’ Garcia was driving baseline and ran into Memo.  He got called for the turnover for stepping out of bounds.  I watched the replay on my DVR and he was a foot away from the line.

This was starting to look like a game where the Kings hit everything they threw up.  But the Jazz, behind some great D to end the 2nd quarter, got back to 1.  We’ll see how it translates to the rest of the game.

Um, I’m done watching. Down 15!!!! To the Kings! WTF. It would help some if the refs took their blinders off, and if the Jazz could make a basket. Great way to blow a 10-game winning streak. They just aren’t playing defense tonight.

    Totally expected.
The Jazz blow a completely winnable game.
    CJ only played 10 minutes.
Korver was totally off, and yet Sloan continued to leave Korver in and keep Miles on the bench.
Hopefully we’ll see more of Price now… he’s been asking for it since Hart went down (if not before).

Just a thought, but Price sparked it up pretty good. He needs more time, and mix him up with more combinations.

50 fouls vs 20? A strong indicator of an 8 man team!

I hate to say it but Korver should’ve ridden the bench the entire 4th quarter. I don’t understand why Jerry takes his hottest player of the night off of the court, just when they’re getting started. Price was amazing, and shoulde’ve played the whole 2nd half. I’m sure the players would rather win and ride the bench then be out and the floor and sucking.

I would have liked to have seen him out there too. But I think the biggest reason he wasn’t out there was because Martin didn’t play in the fourth. We was in their primarily to keep up with him.
