The Utah Jazz | as seen by Basketball John

Just a quickie as I’m on the road today. The Jazz pulled out an ugly win last night over the Wizards. They were down 21-11 after the first quarter but mounted a comeback to be down only one at the half, 38-39. I think my sister’s jr. high basketball team put up more points than that. Okay, so it was their season total in points.

The Jazz pulled away in the fourth and finished off the Wiz, who were without Caron Butler. Team-wise, these solid fourth quarters have been the difference since the first of the year. And we can see what good team play can do to overcome stink bombs from one of your stars. Boozer had an unbelievably low 4 points, going 1-9 from the field. Williams took over in the fourth to secure the win. And Mehmet led the way with 27 & 11. And Mr. Consistent, AK, had 16.

So now they’re off to the suddenly Gasoless Grizzlies. I can’t believe the Lakers got Gasol for two low first rounders, Kwame Brown’s expiring, Crittenden or whatever the name is, and the rights to another Gasol. A guess they can still put Gasol in their media guide and try to fool the fans? We should see Boozer bounce back tonight.  And look for the Jazz to take out the Grizz as their new team tries to find themselves with all the changes.
