Andrei Kirilenko interview with KSL

October 1st, 2007 by Basketball John

kirilenko interviewUPDATE: Welcome TrueHoop readers.  Thanks to the PCA for passing this along to Henry Abbot.  Be gentle.

So I finally got the final interview up on YouTube.

I think AK was pretty honest in his interview.  He didn’t backtrack on any of his previous quotes and didn’t contradict anything that I noticed.

Andrei still thinks he’s going to be traded.  He’ll be at the media day today and you should get sick of the AK questions faster than, well, something really fast.

And getting away from AK, Dee Brown has already started playing in the land of the white and dark meat.

Thanks for the updates and posting the videos. I really hope that Sloan and him can work something out. I mean seriously, can’t we all just get along.

  2. Basketball John Says:

No problem. Seeing AK’s breakdown before the Houston series makes me wonder how he can talk to Sloan at all. There may be a very real aversion to him talking to Sloan about things because he would cry every time. And what would Sloan’s reaction to that be? Probably something not so nice. And then we get more AK crying. A vicious circle.

After seeing AK’s interview, I understand much better where he’s coming from. Last year he was definetely just half of what he was the year before, and doesn’t want to continue down that road. I mean who would? He’s not even in his prime yet, and clearly doesn’t care about the $. Being happy has afterall much to do about maximising your potential.

I am surprised by the criticism Jazz fans [and management] do to their players Malone, Boozer, Giricek, everyone. The best cannot come out by -ve mentality. Jazz should let AK play for another team. Only time will tell whether Jazz mishandled AK or not.
