Utah Jazz announce Rocky Mountain Revue schedule

The schedule for the Rocky Mountain Revue is out. There are a lot of big names from this year’s draft including Kevin Durant, Al Horford, Acie Law, and Joakim Noah. The teams that will be attending are Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs and the Seattle SuperSonics.

This will be the first look at Durant against NBA players. The Jazz have them first on the 17th. I imagine the SLCC will be packed for that game.

They’re saying that Millsap will be playing again this year along with Brewer. I can see having Ronnie playing, but Millsap? That’s crazy on so many levels. What else is he going to prove? He already gets enough PT. It was like having Williams playing last year. There are just too many possibilities of injury or something else when there’s nothing to gain from having Millsap play. Williams didn’t play that much last year, and I suspect the same will happen with Millsap, but it’s dumb. Isn’t the purpose to evaluate rookies, unproven guys, and free agents? Maybe they have a standing rule that sophmores have to play regardless.

We’ll also get a first-hand look at Morris Almond. Should be one of the most entertaining Revues we’ve had.

I like that Millsap is playing, he can maybe start to develop a post game and a mid range shot, hell maybe he can be good for a 3 pointer once in awhile.

I agree that he needs to develop those things, but I just don’t think the Revue is a good place for it. I was scared to death when Williams was playing in it last year that he was going to get hurt. I think Millsap will only play in a couple like Williams did and so I don’t see where the pros out-weigh the cons. He’ll probably be fine, but if anything happens…

True I can see that, but it’s just like Jerry runs a more intense practice and something happens to Paul. Injuries are going to happen sooner or later. Paul is well conditioned, he should be fine.

I think they want ‘Sap to work on his offensive game (I actually think I read that somewhere… though I can’t find it now).
Like you said, he probably won’t play much… this league is more for the other guys. ‘Sap has a spot on the team and guaranteed minutes. He’s just there to refine his game. Everyone else (including Brewer) is either looking for a team or looking for time… so they’ll probably get more time.
