Sad/disappointing end to an amazing (and highly successful) season. The Jazz shocked everyone, and made it farther than anyone thought they would. In the end, the inability to play defense (especially on the perimeter) did them in. That, and the guaranteed 1-bad-quarter-a-game.
As for not showing up... I think Sloan killed them with the amount of time that he played them throughout the season. Blowout wins, blowout losses, late in the season, didn't matter... the stars played. Deron, Booze, Okur, AK, Harp, Fish, 'Sap and occasionally Giricek and Collins. He refused to use Shorty/Brewer/Araujo//Miles (after the 12-1 start, in Miles' case) at all. I know they're paid to show up, but when they're playing major minutes in the season and then face teams in the playoffs that have confidence in their bench, you run into trouble.
Just have to say about the Smith/Rose video from your last post... how do they (Smith I guess... Rose is a player) still have a job? That "saran wrap" comment sucked. Just like the rest of it. Anyone with half a brain could've told you what they said.
