Recap - Golden State Warriors @ Utah Jazz - Game 2 - Welcome back Fisher

Where do you even start or end after a game like this?  So many sublots and twists.  It’s like I was watching Lost.  Oh wait, I was.  What was I going to do when the only TV show I watch, Lost, was scheduled to run during the last quarter and OT?  Running back and forth between TVs, that’s what.

First, thoughts and prayers go to Fisher and his family after learning that his daughter, who’s not even a year old, had a tumor between her eye and her brain and had to have surgery this morning in New York.  We had issues with our boy when he was a couple months old, but nothing like this.  Fisher stated that they were close to losing her.  Too scary.  Puts little things like the NBA playoffs into perspective.

Also, here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for Dee Brown who was injured in a horrific collision with Mehmet Okur.  It’s surprising Brown didn’t get his neck snapped off with Okur falling on him like that.  All tests were normal.

Absolutley great night all around (Lost was amazing) and the Jazz won a game that really the Jazz gave away and then the Warriors gave back at the end of regulation.  The Warriors went on a 12-1 run late in the fourth to take the lead.  But with many timely missed free throws by GS, the Jazz were only two points down with 5.8 to play.  This set up a nice drive by Williams who pulled up for about 10 foot jumper and nailed it.

And apparently, size does matter.  Ask the Warriors who were abused on the glass 60-32.  60-32!  The only thing that kept the Warriors in the game was the ridiculous 40 three-pointers they hoisted.  They made 15 of them.  You look at the numbers and you really don’t know how it was so close at the end.

And for what’s been said about Fisher’s playing time, he clamped down on Davis for the potential game-winning shot at the end of regulation.  We’ve see him hit those before.

And now we’re off to the Golden State where it will be next to impossible to win.  The Warriors will get more calls there and will have their crazies going  all game.  Stephen Jackson said after the game that they’re conifdent the way they played on the road and felt they should have won.  Well, you didn’t.  And whether you lose by 1 or 100, it’s the same.  You’re still down 2-0 and the pressure is on them.  For entertainment value, everyone is hoping the series goes 7 games.  But for my heart rate, could we end it in 5 or 6 please?

Also, I’ve put their site on the blogroll for the series, but there are some good recaps and other posts over at
