Eye of the Sports Guy - Bill Simmons throws his hat into the podcast ring

Well, if you can stand his voice, Simmons talks with Marc Stein about the NBA and has some interesting comments on the Jazz. Simmons is riding a two game winning streak with his Jazz predictions so we’ll throw him a bone. Next week, someone not as famous as Stein. We’ll see if this lasts as long as his cartoon series.

[UPDATE 5/22/2007] Outside of espn.com, this post is at the top of Google for “Eye of the Sports Guy” for whatever reason. I don’t know how you could ever claim to be an SEO person when Google does weird stuff like this. I barely mention the Sports Guy’s new podcast and I get ranked to the top. Anyway, glad to have you here even though it’s probably not what you’re looking for. Here’s a link to the Sports Guy’s podcasts.

Post season award snub continue

First Sloan for COY, arguably Deron Williams for Most Improved, and now Paul Millsap gets named to only the All-rookie second team. Anyone that saw him play in the Rookie-Sophmore game saw that he was one of the best rookies in the game. He certainly should have beaten out Aldridge. Compare their per 48 minute stats:

Millsap
Aldridge

And maybe even a case over Bargnani. He also played in 19 more games than Lamarcus.  Oh well. We know what we have and I would take him over most of the rookies in the NBA and considering what the Jazz are paying him, it’s no contest. And right now, his team is still in the playoffs.
