Recap - Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets - Game 5 - That’ll leave a bad taste in your mouth

This is way late. I was laid up for a couple days. Pretty bad when I don’t even feel like using the computer.

Anyway, there’s already been a lot said on this game. I thought it was the best game of the series despite the Jazz loss. Both teams played better and the overall quality of the game was better. You can’t really put the blame on anything for this loss. The Rockets hit their three’s in the fourth and that’s what did the Jazz in. They played great D on McGrady, but he found the open man and they made those shots; something they have done in the previous four games. The Jazz had many opportunities to win this and were within one late in the game. But the Fisher charge was the game breaker. There’s not doubt that Hayes was moving, but I thought it was a dumb play for Fisher to be driving. First of all he was going to his right. I’m not sure what he was planning on doing with the ball at that point. Maybe he was just trying to get a foul call.

The game was as close as the score indicated. And the Jazz still had a chance to tie the game late but couldn’t get a good look at a three

Game 6 in Thursday @ Utah. I think the Jazz win this and we head back to Houston. I don’t know how the Jazz will win there. They’ve lead after half in all 5 games and have lead after the third three times. This was the first game that the team leading after the third (this time the Jazz) haven’t won the game.

I’m seriously thinking about starting a Yao-hating site. I can’t stand it any more when he gets called for a foul and cries about it. He had a late charge against Okur where he lowered his shoulder into him and got whistled for it. I’d like to think it would be the same look as if his wife (is he married?) walked in on him cheating with another women. His reaction would probably be the same

Game 6 should be great. I hope it’s a blow out so that I don’t fret about it. I have to save up my energy for game 7.

One more note, there were about 5 seconds left after Yao grabbed the airball three attempt by Williams and Boozer and someone else were trying to foul him to stop the clock, but the refs wouldn’t call it. I know that it was very unlikely that it would have helped and the Jazz wouldn’t have won anyway, but they were letting them hack Yao and not call it. I would have like to see what it would have taken for them to blow the whistle on that one. It probably would have taken something worthy of a suspension like a knee to the groin or a slap.
