Recap 4/9/2007 - Utah Jazz @ Golden State Warriors - Where to go from here

I won’t bother talking about last night’s loss to the Warriors except that Ronnie Brewer had a nice game going 7-9 from theokurdavis.jpg field and the free throw line.

Complete Box Score

But the biggest part about this loss is that the Rockets take the lead for home court advantage in the first round. And will everyone stop saying that the Jazz have lost the fourth seed? Not that it matters much, but the Jazz can do no worse than the fourth seed because they won the Northwest Division.

This 10 of 15 slide began with the let-down loss at Miami back on 3/13, which is close to when I started this blog. Coincidence?

So how do they turn it around? I don’t know. They finally got to the free throw line but shot a miserable 66%. They out rebounded the Warriors but trailed badly in assists with only 20 the whole game. And Deron Williams only had 3 of those. The offense has struggled at times. Are teams finally catching on to the pick and roll? If it’s run right, it’s hard to defend. Are there some physical ailments with the team right now? I know Williams has had few this season. Maybe there’s something still lingering.

Here’s a look at their remaining 5 games:

Knowing the Jazz, they will either go 5-0 over this stretch or 1-4. The Houston game obviously looms large, but it could be a moot point if they don’t win at least three of the next four.
